Dogs for Adoption.
In this section of the site you will be able to view all dogs that are looking for new homes. We promise that all dogs on this page are suitable for re-homing. There is a charge on the re-homing of all animals from the Sligo Animal Rescue. This charge is to cover vet bills and the cost of feeding them whilst in the care of Sligo Animal Rescue. Please feel free to look through the dogs and see if there is one that suits you. If you find a dog on this page that suits you, do not hesitate to contact us and we can organise for you to meet the dog.

Chesney (Ches)
3-4 yr old male, neutered and vaccinated. Hasn't had a good life so far. Was homed from pound, tried to return but pound would not take him back ,so then he was tied in shed x 5weeks and then ended up a stray. Good with people, other dogs and children,but not to date met with very younger children, not sure about cats. he is thin a needs alot of building up, physically an emotionally to him have stability. need work on the lead.

Flynn , 4 mnths old. Very good puppy. Looks like a dark choc lab, Poss spaniel/beagle mix. Very clean indoor but still learning. very active during day, relaxes most evenings. sleeps through the night without disturbance in his own crate. Good with other dogs. Tends to treat kittens as toys,but still only a baby.

DEE DEE.............
Dee Dee is a female pointer, sadly is deaf, 13-14 mnths old. She is neutered and vaccinated. She is good with other dogs,cats and children. She is, in general,no bother at all. She would have to be accepted for the fact that she is deaf and compromises made for that.

NELLY....3 Yr old
This is Nelly, she is 3 years old, her family built a new house and decided that they didnt want her in it... She actually belonged to a 15 year old girl who was distraught at the thought of getting rid of her...It was the parents who decided... She LOVES kids, fine with cats, as long as the cats stands up to her, and she is fine with dogs, but she wants to be the boss... She has a lovely nature, would make a lovely family pet..

This is Scooby, he is a hound X, he's big and strong, but a total puppy... Loves kids, scared of cats... He would need ALOT of excercise, a large secure garden, and loads of attention...His previous family didnt want him any more, as they got a Rottie... Scooby was sent to live in the garage, while the new Rottie got Scooby's sofa...He's a really lovely dog..

This is Bruce, he was homed 3 years ago, and the family decided they dont have time for him any more... He is a tri-colour collie X, he has a normal collie-size body, with little legs... Brilliant with kids and cats, loves to play, loves dogs... He would be approx 6 years old now, his coat was in bad condition, but he has been to the hairdresser. He really deserves a real forever home, he was kept tied at his old home, as they couldnt be bothered with him... A really sweet dog...

This is Missy. She is about 8 months old. She was an outside dog for most of her life with no affection. She has responded well to tlc and gets on very well with other dogs.
Missy was rehomed through the Mayo spca, but was returned . A member of the spca collected her today and was told by a neighbour that the dog was returned because she was shedding "Too Much Hair".
She is a very sweet natured dog and has shown no sign of aggression.
It is felt that she would be more suited to being an only dog for some little old lady or couple
